What is color vision screening?

Color vision screening is a quick, standardized way to check whether a person distinguishes colors reliably. The best-known method uses pseudoisochromatic plates - circles of dots where a number is visible only to people with typical color perception. The principle was published by Dr. Shinobu Ishihara in 1917 and remains the worldwide standard for red-green screening.

Does this replace a medical examination?

No. IshiharaPro is an indicative screening tool. It shows whether a professional examination is advisable, but diagnosis belongs exclusively to a physician. This notice is on every report.

Is a result from a phone reliable?

For the purpose of indicative screening, yes. Displays vary, which is why we show environment recommendations before the test and score everything server-side. We recommend verifying borderline results with a specialist.

What about GDPR? Results are sensitive data.

Yes, and we treat them that way. Data is isolated per client, every operation is audited and retention is automatic: you set the storage period, the system deletes data once it expires. Candidates give consent before testing.
